Rudland Elected to ND Association of Fairs Board

Craig Rudland, Assistant General Manager of the North Dakota State Fair, has been elected to serve as District 6 Representative on the North Dakota Association of Fairs Board of Directors.

Motor Magic Classic Car Auction Raises Funds for Community Projects

The Motor Magic Classic Car Auction, scheduled for Sunday, September 4th at 12:01 pm in the State Fair Center on the North Dakota State Fairgrounds, will help raise funds for the Souris Valley United Way, The Minot Area Community Foundation’s Area Flood Recovery Fund and for employees of Wholesale Supply Company who are flood victims.
 
State Fair Manager to Receive Honorary FFA Degree

Renae Korslien, General Manager of the North Dakota State Fair in Minot, ND was recently selected to receive the Honorary American FFA Degree – Other. The award is given to those who advance agricultural education and FFA through outstanding personal commitment.
 
Motor Magic, Labor Day Weekend in Minot

The North Dakota State Fairgrounds will host Motor Magic, Labor Day weekend, September 3-5, 2011 in Minot. The largest motorsports event in the Upper Midwest, Motor Magic provides entertainment for auto enthusiasts of all ages.
 
Minot Rising / Black Eyed Peas T-Shirt Unveiled

The Minot Rising / Black Eyed Peas t-shirt design centers around the Minot magician, arm in a sling, being lifted up by hard-hatted volunteers. The background incorporates The Black Eyed Peas along with other Minot icons including the Minot State University Beavers, and the Ramstad Rockets.
 
Black Eyed Peas Concert, Sept. 3

Six-time Grammy award-winning, multi-platinum recording artists The Black Eyed Peas will hold a benefit concert on September 3, 2011, at the North Dakota State Fair Grandstand to assist the victims of the flooding that devastated Minot and surrounding North Dakota communities. All concert proceeds will go to the Minot Area Community Foundation – Recovery Fund. Tickets will go on sale August 12 at 8am. Tickets are $100 for either standing or reserved seating tickets and can be purchased online at the Minot Rising website or at the Minot Air Force Base Outdoor Recreation Center, Marketplace Foods on 20th Ave, Marketplace Foods at the Dakota Square Mall and also at the ticketing kiosk at the Dakota Square Mall.
 
2011 North Dakota State Fair Cancelled

ND State Fair offices have temporarily been relocated to the Minot CVB. There are no talks of cancelling the State Fair at this time.
 
Habitat for Humanity Accepting Applications for New Home Build

Habitat for Humanity Northern Lights, in partnership with the Minot Area Community Foundation and Real Builders, Inc., will begin construction of Minot’s tenth Habitat home during the 2011 North Dakota State Fair. Habitat is currently accepting applications for families in need of a home.

The North Dakota State Fair invites people of all ages to participate in the Fair by entering in Open Class Competitions. Open Class Competitions have something for everyone with hundreds of competitive categories including canning, baked goods, quilting, clothing, flowers, painting, photography, vegetables and much more. The State Fair also proudly highlights several breeds including beef, sheep, goat, swine, rabbits, dairy and horse. In 2010, over 44,000 exhibits were on display with nearly $273,000 given away in prize money!
 
State Fair Adds Second Night of Ranch Rodeo Competition

Due to the popularity of past NDSF Ranch Rodeo Championships, the 2011 North Dakota State Fair will feature two nights of Ranch Rodeo competition on Monday, July 25 and Thursday, July 28.
 
North Dakota State Fair Sets Ticket Sale Records

The North Dakota State Fair experienced record sales volume of a rock concert for the first day of Kid Rock ticket sales. Wednesday’s opening day for Kid Rock tickets surpassed KISS, which was previously the record holder for the largest one-day rock concert ticket sale. The Grandstand Showpass opening ticket sales day on March 16, 2011 serves as the highest opening day of ticket sales in State Fair history.
 
Kid Rock and Pat Benatar tickets on Sale April 13

Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, as well as Kid Rock with special guest Sheryl Crow will rock the Grandstand at the 2011 North Dakota State Fair. Tickets will go on-sale Wednesday, April 13 at 8am.
 
Motor Magic and the Souris Valley United Way partner up for 2nd Annual Pedal Car Auction

In 2010 Motor Magic played host to the first annual Souris Valley United Way Pedal Car Auction which raised $9,100 for the Souris Valley United Way. Pedal cars are now available to be purchased by organizations for the Second Annual Pedal Car Auction.
