Don't miss the largest parade in North Dakota on the first Saturday of the Fair. The parade starts at 9:15 a.m. sharp on the corner of Broadway and Burdick Expressway and runs to the Fairgrounds. Take part in the North Dakota State Fair tenth annual rodeo queen pageant as a spectator or participant. Ladies between the ages of 18 and 23 will compete for the title of Miss Rodeo North Dakota State Fair 2011. Pageant contestants will be judged in horsemanship, modeling, speech and a personal interview. Watch some of the best local country musicians compete in a talent challenge you won't want to miss. The Colgate Country Showdown, sponsored by Sunny 101.9 Radio, will take place inside the Flickertail Gardens on Sunday, July 25th at 1:00 p.m. Along with receiving a cash prize, the showdown winner will advance to the state competition to compete for the opportunity to qualify for the regional level. Experience Pride of Dakota Day at the North Dakota State Fair! Visit with North Dakota entrepreneurs and purchase products made exclusively in North Dakota. A lunch is offered to all fairgoers for only $1 from 11am-1pm under the tent. The lunch includes a hotdog, chips, and drink, with all proceeds being donated to FFA! There will also be a Kuchen Contest at 3pm.

Military Appreciation Day is moving to Tuesday this year. Military members can take advantage of discounted gate admission, rodeo tickets, and carnival ride wristbands with Military ID. Free carnival rides will be provided from 1:00pm to 3:00pm for Military personal and dependents. The ND Beef Commission, ND Stockmen's Association, and ND Cattlewomen will sponsor a free beef picnic for Active Military, Reserve, and National Guard Members from 11:00am-1:00pm.

Marketplace for Kids is back for its 2nd year at the State Fair! The Bright Ideas Showcase and Contest will take place in the State Fair Center. Marketplace for Kids is a unique educational program offering encouragement for developing young entrepreneurs. It provides young people with a forum to present and explain their projects which are demonstrating entrepreneurship, innovation, and creativity.

The Senior Festival will be held in the Upper Atrium of the State Fair Center on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Great entertainment, vendor booths, and an ice cream social are some of the fun activities that will take place. Several prizes will be given away during the festival. The Senior Festival is held to honor all that seniors have done for our local community and the state of North Dakota.

Water Day-Festival O' Fun is back in 2010! The purpose of Water Day-Festival O' Fun is to promote unity for water development and to educate the public about the critical water needs that still exist within our state today.

Join booth exhibitors under the big colorful Tent in State Fair Park from 10am - 4pm. A Water Wiz trivia game will be played and followed by a grand prize drawing. Frost Fest snowcones will also be given away from 3pm - 4pm.

Let your artistic side shine! The Bank of North Dakota's College Save program is sponsoring this 20-foot long larger-than-life paint by number mural.

Washable paint will be provided and Fair-goers are invited to help us paint this Fair themed mural. The mural will be located on the south east corner of the State Fair Center each day from 11am - 9pm.

Fill the walls of the Kid's Clubhouse with color! All kindergarten, first and second grade students are invited to color a page to be posted during the North Dakota State Fair. The pages should be mailed our droped off at the State Fair office by June 1st. All entrants who attend the fair will receive a participation ribbon, which can be picked up in the Kids Clubhouse, during the State Fair.

Crowd Pleasers Karaoke Contest

Sing your heart out at the 5th Annual Crowd Pleasers Karaoke Contest. This contest takes place daily at 7pm and 10:45pm on the Dakota Talent Stage, with championship sing-offs being held on Tuesday, July 28 and Saturday, August 1. Registration takes place just minutes before the start of the competition. Prizes are awarded daily in both the adult and junior (16 and under) divisions.

Rent a flash video recorder for free at the Fair office on the second floor of the State Fair Center (you'll need a credit card even though it's free)from 11am - 7pm. Then record all of the fun you have at the Fair! It's an easy and free way to be a star for the day. Return the camera and we'll edit and upload your video to the State Fair YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/ndstatefair.
